THE SERVICE OF PASSIONATE DEVOTION
“…do you love Me?…Tend My sheep” (John 21:16)
Jesus did not say to make converts to your way of thinking, but He said to look after His sheep, to see that they get nourished in the knowledge of Him. We consider what we do in the way of Christian work as service, yet Jesus Christ calls service to be what we are to Him, not what we do for Him. Discipleship is based solely on devotion to Jesus Christ, not on following after a particular belief or doctrine. “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate…, he cannot be My disciple”(Luke 14:26). In this verse, there is no argument and no pressure from Jesus to follow Him; He is simply saying, in effect, “If you want to be My disciple, you must be devoted solely to Me.” A person touched by the Spirit of God suddenly says, “Now I see who Jesus is!”—that is the source of devotion.
Today we have substituted doctrinal belief for personal belief, and that is why so many people are devoted to causes and so few are devoted to Jesus Christ. People do not really want to be devoted to Jesus, but only to the cause He started. Jesus Christ is deeply offensive to the educated minds of today, to those who only want Him to be their Friend, and who are unwilling to accept Him in any other way. Our Lord’s primary obedience was to the will of His Father, not to the needs of people—the saving of people was the natural outcome of His obedience to the Father. If I am devoted solely to the cause of humanity, I will soon be exhausted and come to the point where my love will waver and stumble. But if I love Jesus Christ personally and passionately, I can serve humanity, even though people may treat me like a “doormat.” The secret of a disciple’s life is devotion to Jesus Christ, and the characteristic of that life is its seeming insignificance and its meekness. Yet it is like a grain of wheat that “falls into the ground and dies”—it will spring up and change the entire landscape (John 12:24) |

Hey everyone!!
How are yall? I am good. Yesterday we had a soccer game, Varsity Lost, and JV won!!!! GO JV!!! I didn't let in any goals, at all this season yet, hopefully i don't lol!!.
Well so much has been going on. Lets see this week was super busy. Heres what happended:
Monday: No school: But we did have a soccer game in Somerset!!! Varsity lost, i think, not sure, but i know for a fact JV won!!!! And i goalied that entire game!
Tuesday: School was back like normal. I had to see my little kinship kid , he's a cutie!!! We had another game. THis one was in Hudson, which was nice cuz we got to get out of class early!!! That was just a Varsity game, which they lost. Then on the way home, we stopped in at Taco Bell, which i would have way, way, way more gone to Arbys because they had "five for five" and the beef and cheese was calling me. Then after we were done eating, we left for home, and there was a little storm that we had to go through, and i didn't like it at all.
Wednesday: Not much. Found out that my cross picture was going to be in the Art Show coming up, so that was cool, considering i didn't even think i did a great job. Then i finally got to go back to my normal youth group, i missed them all so much. Also, when i got home, i found out that i was called about my job, and we needed to work out some details.
Thursday: ANOTHER SOCCER GAME!!! It rained pretty much the whole time. Which was bad and cold.
Friday: Thats today LOL!!! Well, i didn't do anything super interesting. At practice we worked on corner kicks and goal kicks. I also had Margaret Budke and Iris shoot on me for a while. Then Jake Harris and Andy Zager came and shot on me as well. So that was fun, i didn't let more than three of theirs, and they are strong kickers!!! I still need to pack for Sunday, cuz tomorrow, i am painting the kitchen ALL DAY, then at around 7:00 i am goin over to Kaylas to work on the Scrapbook for Student Council, then get to bed sorta early so we can be up to the school by 6 AM!!!!! so we can leave for the State Student Council Conference in Green Bay!! I am going to sleep on the way up there. that takes me until tuesday nite, where we have another game!! so yeah super busy!!!
Okay, now i want to but on a special thing i found in my devotional, i just want you to remember, that reading this is a choice, you DONT have to read it, you can skip this part and go on to the next part!

CHRISTIAN PERFECTION
"Not that I have already attained, or am already perfect..."-Philippians 3:12
It is a trap to presume that God wants to make us perfect specimens of what He can do-God's purpose is to make us one with Himslef. The emphasis of holiness movements tends to be that God is producing specimens of holiness to put in His museum. If you accept this concept of personal holiness, your life's determined purpose will not be for God, but for what you call the evidence of God in your life. How can we say, "It could never be God's will for me to be sick?" If was God's will to bruise His own Son (Isaiah 53:10), why shouldn't He bruise you? What shines forth and reveals God in your life is not your relative consistency to an idea of what a saint should be, but your genuine, living relationship with Jesus Christ, and your unrestrained devotion to Him whether you are well or sick.
Christian perfection is not, and never can be, human perfection. Christian perfection is the perfection of a relationship with God that shows itself to be true even amid the semmingly unimportant aspects of human life. When you obey the call of Jesus Christ, the first thing that hits you is the pointlessness of the things you have to do. The next thought that strikes you is that other people seem to be living perfectly consistent lives. Such lives may leave you with the idea that God is unnecessary-that through your own human effort and devotion you can attain God's standard for your life. In a fallen world this can never be done. I am called to live in such a perfect relationship with God that my life produces a yearning for God in the lives of others, not admiration for myself. Thoughts about myself hinder my usefulness to God. God's purpose is not perfect me to make me a trophy in His showcase; He is getting me to the place where He can use me. Let Him do what He wants.

| ITs been a really really really really really really really long time |

Hello everyone!!!
It has been a really really really really really long time since i last updated, and for that i am sorry. I have made it a new thing to make sure i update my livejournal!!! And i will try my best to stick to it.
So much has happened since the last time i updated. Some important things that have happended are that Brit, Nicky and i made it to state for 4n6, which is great, considering it is our first year. we had so much fun going shopping, and hanging out. At our performance, we ended up getting a 22/25, which is very well, and we should be proud.
Another new thing is that this is Easter weekend. I love Easter, cuz it really puts my life into perspective. Jesus died to save me, the unworthy one, but that is the beauty of grace.
Also, next sunday, monday, and tuesday i will be in Green Bay for the state Student Council Convetition, i hope it is fun, it doesn't really seem like it is right now, cuz only a couple of my friends are going, unlike the 4n6 trip which was the BEST ever. LOL. but it should be fun.
School is goin well, i am doing well in all of my classes, which is especially surprising in precalc II, cuz it is sometimes really hard, but yeah, im happy and there are only a few days left of school.
Well, i don't want to hit you with too much information on my first post back, but i promise to keep updating,

Hello ALL
How are things going? Things are okay here. I had a grand birthday. and am sooooooooooo loooking forward to Christmas. I need the days of or I am going to go crazy. I know, I know, I am already crazy, but EVEN MORE crazy.
People have changed so much lately at school. An un-named friend and I were talking about it. People are obsessive about their boy/girl friends, sports, or are just being stupid. A lot of my friends, I think have changed a little, but I don't know, they seem to not care about me as much. Or want to talk. I don't no why that is. Let me know.
School is fine. I am not doing so well in Advanced Algebra 2 right now. I am going to ask Ms. Anich if she would help me once a week on Thursdays to "tutor" me, I guess, so I totally have all the concepts down because I am taking Pre-Calc I next term and it is all based off of AAII, so ya. WISH ME LUCK. I need to know this stuff. GOOD News, I am doing much much much much better in Biology.
I haven't been feeling great lately, most colds. Had the 24 hour flu on thurs. It stinks plus I missed school.
Also, today at 4-6, Nicky and I are ringing bells for the Salvation Army. It is going to be fun, plus it is helping those less fortunate. An added bonus is that it is Beautiful outside.

Wow it has been a long time since I have typed on here. So I am now. My birthday is in 13 days!!! YEAH!!!
Right now I am just trying to get through until Thanksgiving vacation because I need a break. All of my classes are semester long classes and They are so boring. Also there is testing which is super easy and I want that to be over, so yah.
I can't wait until deer hunting. I cant go out opening day cuz I have to babysit.
Youth Group is great. I love all them peoples to death. They are the funniest and craziest bunch yall will ever meet. In fact, all my school friends are busy and can;t make it to my party, so its just going to be me and my youth group friends. IT WILL STILL BE A BLAST!!!!!!!!!
Also, my schedule for next Semester is as follows:
Block 1~~ Spanish III
Block 2~~ Drama
Block 3~~ Pre-Calc I
Block 4~~ History with Gould.

School is very interesting and so is life. I am so busy. This week I had a Tennis match on Tuesday, it was a blast.
Then wednesday i had an echo meeting and youth group.
Thursday I had another match in Mondovi and got home at 10:45 and I stayed up till 1 to do my homework. So ya Mrs. Coleman like spazzed on me.
Friday" I had my kinship interview and all went well, Nicky Brit and I were all accepted. So ya. My dad bought me the Jamie O'Neil CD- Brave. So ya I am going to go.

Well, it's goofy old me at goofy sister Nicky's House. I am so happy to see her!!!!! P>S Analyze MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! Oh how are things for everyone. Things are great. Here's whats up:
Monday: Tennis practice-- No match-- only for Varsity. It was fun because we didn't have to "Practice" but yet we did. Tomorrow I have a Match against Durand, here in Amery!!!! Now I get to show my "stuff". NEways, Today, we had a practice match and I played Margaret. Also, I only beat her by a little!!! So ya I just moved up one spot on the ladder. So now. I only have to beat 5 more people to make Varsity. So ya, you should come down and watch me giving me moral support.
Tuesday: The Match
Wednesday: Tennis, challenge match with Britta, Youth group
Thursday: I am going to challenge Caitlin for #2 spot
Friday: Get ready for VF
Sat: VF
Okay, thats all I will say, Oh wait news on my wisdom teeth is that I am getting them out Sept. 19!!!!
